Terms of use

Last updated 14 August 2026

Your licence

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Zap on devices you own. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer the app.

Deleting your photos

Zap is a tool for deciding what to delete. You choose what goes in the bin and you confirm the deletion with iOS. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where iOS keeps them for 30 days and you can restore them yourself. After that they are gone, and we cannot retrieve them — Zap never held a copy.

Keep your own backups. We are not responsible for photographs you chose to delete.

Free use and Zap+

Zap includes a free daily allowance of decisions. The size of that allowance is set by us and may change.

Zap+ is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple. Both plans include a seven-day free trial; if you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription begins and renews until you cancel. You cancel in your Apple account settings rather than in Zap, and Apple handles refunds under App Store policy.

Referrals

Referral rewards are granted when an invited person redeems a code on a new account. We may withhold rewards where we see automated or duplicate signups. Rewards have no cash value.

Acceptable use

Do not use Zap to process material you have no right to hold, and do not attempt to interfere with the app or with other people using it.

Availability

Zap is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults, and we may change or withdraw features.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost photographs or indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
