Three moves.
That’s the whole app.

Swipe

One photo at a time. Left bins it, right keeps it. Undo is always one tap away.

Empty the bin

Nothing is deleted until you say so. Then iOS moves it to Recently Deleted.

Come back

A streak counts the days you cleared something. Finished months get crossed off your list.

Your photos never leave your phone.

Zap reads your photo library on your device and asks iOS to move only what you choose to bin. Your photos aren’t uploaded or stored by Zap.

Sign in uses Apple, so Zap doesn’t need your email address either.

Finally cleared 8,000 photos

I’ve tried other photo cleaners but this is the first one I’ve actually kept using.

Two years of screenshots, gone

Ten minutes on the train and the storage warning finally stopped coming back.

Maya · App Store

The undo button saved me

I binned a photo of my dog by accident and had it back before I’d stopped panicking.

Tom · App Store

No uploading, which is why I trust it

Every other app wanted my whole library in the cloud first. This one just works on the phone.

Priya · App Store

Cleared a whole holiday in one go

Forty near-identical harbour shots. Kept two, binned the rest, all done before the kettle boiled.

The daily limit is the point

I do my daily batch and stop. Turns out that is the only reason I have kept at it for two months.

FAQs

Are the photos gone for good?

No. Emptying the bin moves them to Recently Deleted in Photos, where iOS keeps them for 30 days. Before that, everything you bin sits in the strip at the bottom of the deck until you choose to empty it.

Is Zap free?

Yes. Every day you get a free allowance of decisions. Zap+ removes the limit; you can use Zap without it for as long as you like.

Do I need an account?

Sign in with Apple, and nothing else. There is no password, and we never receive your email address unless you choose to share it.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once you are signed in. Your library is on the device, so swiping, undo and emptying the bin all work with no connection. Signing in for the first time needs a connection, as do purchases and referrals.

What is Zap+?

Zap+ removes the daily limit, so you can keep going for as long as you want in one sitting. That is the only thing it changes — every feature, and every safeguard, is the same on the free tier. It is £4.99 a month or £19.99 a year, both with a seven-day free trial, and you cancel in your Apple account settings rather than in Zap.
