Privacy policy
Last updated 14 August 2026
The short version
Your photographs and videos are read on your device and never sent anywhere. Zap has no server that stores your media, no cloud copy and no backup of your library. Deleting the app removes everything Zap held about your photos.
Photos and videos
Zap asks iOS for access to your photo library so it can show you one item at a time. Everything you swipe is recorded on your device only, as a local record of what you have already reviewed.
When you empty the bin, Zap asks iOS to move those items. iOS shows you its own confirmation and performs the deletion; Zap cannot remove a photo without that step. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where iOS keeps them for 30 days.
Signing in
Zap uses Sign in with Apple. Apple tells us an anonymous identifier for your account, and nothing else unless you choose to share it.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Because your library never leaves your device, most of what you would ask about is already only in your possession.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Questions go to privacy@usezap.app.
